What is nutrition counseling, exactly?

It's a collaborative process where we look at your health history, symptoms, lifestyle, and goals, then build a nutrition and lifestyle strategy around what's actually going on in your body. It's not a meal plan handed to you on day one. It's more like ongoing detective work paired with real, practical changes.

What happens in follow-up sessions?

Follow-ups are shorter, around 45 minutes. We check in on how things have gone since we last talked, look at what's working and what isn't, and adjust from there. This is where patterns start to show up over time, and where we fine-tune instead of guess.

What kinds of concerns do you work with?

A lot of my clients come to me around PCOS, endometriosis, and other hormonal or cycle-related concerns, gut health issues like bloating and digestive discomfort, and autoimmune conditions. Others are dealing with low energy, brain fog, blood sugar swings, or cravings they can't quite make sense of. If you're not sure whether your situation fits, reach out and we can talk it through.

Will I be put on a restrictive diet?

No. Nutrition should be practical, sustainable, and something you can actually live with, not overwhelming. We might explore removing or adding certain foods temporarily to see how your body responds, but the goal is always to find what works long-term, not to hand you a list of rules.

Do you offer virtual or telehealth appointments?

Yes, all sessions are held virtually through telehealth, using a secure platform (Practice Better) for booking and video visits. That means you can work with me from home, work, or wherever is easiest for you.

Do you read or interpret lab work?

Yes. I review labs functionally, not just against standard reference ranges, so we can look for patterns that may be relevant to what you're experiencing. If there's bloodwork that would be useful, I'll often recommend specific labs you can ask your PCP to order, sometimes with a letter of support so your insurance can cover them. When needed and it makes sense for both of us, I can also order certain labs out of pocket.

How do I know if this is a good fit for me?

If you're tired of guessing, ready to actually understand what's going on with your body, and open to making changes at a pace that feels sustainable, we're probably a good match. The best way to know for sure is to book a discovery call and talk it through.

What happens during the initial consultation?

It's a longer session, usually 75-90 minutes, where we go through your health history, current symptoms, past labs if you have them, your relationship with food, lifestyle, and what you're hoping to get out of working together. By the end, you'll leave with a clear sense of where we're headed.

How often will we meet?

That depends on you, your goals, and what we're working through. Some people prefer closer check-ins while we're building new habits, others need more time between sessions to let changes settle in. We'll figure out a rhythm that actually fits your life, not a one-size-fits-all schedule.

Will I be given a meal plan?

Not a rigid, printed-out meal plan, no. We work together to build an approach that fits your actual life, your schedule, your preferences, and what your body responds to. It's less about a list of foods to follow and more about learning what works for you and why.

What does functional or integrative nutrition mean?

Functional and integrative nutrition looks at the body as a connected system rather than treating symptoms in isolation. Instead of just managing what's showing up, we look at diet, lifestyle, stress, sleep, and other factors that might be contributing, so we can address more of what's actually going on.

How do I get started?

Book a free discovery call. It's a short, no-pressure conversation to talk about what you're dealing with, answer your questions, and figure out together whether working with me is the right fit before you commit to anything.

Do you recommend supplements?

Sometimes, when it makes sense for your specific situation. I have a professional supplement dispensary account through Fullscript, so if a high-quality supplement would genuinely support what we're working on, I can order it for you directly. Supplements are never the starting point, they're one piece of a bigger plan.

Do you accept insurance?

I don't currently accept insurance directly, but I'm happy to provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan.
