Kylah Hicks, MScN, CNS Candidate

Hi, I'm Kylah. I started Root & Moon after my own experience of being told my labs looked "normal" while I still didn't feel like myself. Figuring out how much nutrition had to do with that is what pulled me into this field.

I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition and I'm currently completing my supervised practice hours toward the Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) credential, working with clients as an intern with The Nutrition and Herbal Collective under experienced CNS practitioners.

My focus is women's health, gut health, and autoimmune conditions — PCOS, endometriosis, digestive issues, and the symptoms that get written off as normal when your labs come back clear. I don't hand out meal plans or cut out food groups. I listen first, then help you understand what your body is telling you and build something that actually fits your life.

Mission

I started Root & Moon because so many of my clients had been told their labs looked normal and still didn't feel like themselves. My work is to look at what's actually going on with your gut, hormones, energy, and stress — not just a single lab value — and build a nutrition plan around it.

I don't believe in one-size-fits-all rules. What works depends on your history, your labs when we have them, your schedule, and what you're actually willing to do. My job is to make sense of the pattern and give you a plan you can stick with, plus the support to adjust it as your body changes.

Vision

I want Root & Moon to be a place where you can ask "why do I feel this way?" and actually get an answer, not just a prescription. Health isn't linear, and neither is this work — some seasons call for more structure, others for more rest. My hope is that clients leave not just with a plan, but with a better understanding of their own body, one they can carry with them long after we stop meeting.
